A group of 4 Members of Parliament from England will be visiting the Falkland Islands as guests of FIG from 11 – 16 February, accompanied by Sukey Cameron MBE, from the Falkland Islands Government Office in London.
For many years, FIG has been hosting MPs in the Islands to allow them greater insight into the Islands, and to strengthen the relationship between the Island and the House of Commons.
This year’s delegates will be: Chris Matheson MP [L], Member of Parliament for Chester, in the North-west David Morris MP [C], Member of Parliament for Morecombe & Lunesdale, in the North-west Guy Opperman MP [C], Member of Parliament for Hexham, in the North-east Peter Dowd MP [L], Member of Parliament for Bootle, in the North-west.
In addition to meeting with members of the Government and private sector, during their time in the Islands the MPs will have the opportunity to meet children at both schools, as well as travel to Bleaker Island for the night.
