GORDON FORBES CONSTRUCTION AWARDED SUBSTANCIAL PAYMENT FROM FIG

Gordon Forbes Construction, who built the Falkland Islands Community School and portions of the East Stanley Development has won a substantial settlement from the Falkland Islands Government in respect of a long standing contractual dispute. Mr. Forbes told FIBS that the final adjudication was issued on 20 July and that he was awarded a considerable sum of money. The settlement is reported to include interest and costs.
According to the report on FIBS, the Attorney General, Mr.\David Lang QC confirmed that the adjudication had been made but that he would not comment further on the case until he had spoken to Executive Council on Thursday. A public statement is expected after that meeting.
